If retirement, once a mere speck on the horizon, is looming ever nearer and you’re counting the months, not years, congratulations. You may have a solid nest egg and retirement to cover your living expenses—with hopefully some left over for fun hobbies or traveling—but about potential one-time costs? As a savvy near-retiree, there are a few larger purchases you can make now, while you still have earned income. Many of the big purchases on our list work as investments, too.
